As a research engineer in the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Hub, I develop algorithms and programs for the analysis of phylogenomic data and sequence evolution within the PAGE expertise group.
I joined the Hub at Institut Pasteur in 2022, where I initially worked with the Pathogen Discovery Laboratory on predicting the evolution of virus proteins. This project involved modeling the evolution of given protein families and generating plausible yet distant virus sequences to test viral sequence detection pipelines and predict possible virus evolution. Currently, I am collaborating with the Microbial Cell Evolutionary Biology Team led by Simonetta Gribaldo, and my work focuses on reconstructing and graphically representing environmental adaptation events across the entire tree of life of microorganisms.
Whatever the subject, I am always interested in the optimization, logic and algorithms behind it. Additionally, I am actively expanding my skills by getting into web app development and exploring neural networks. I am currently co-supervising a Master internship on the topic of using deep-learning for the detection of viral sequences.
