About

Julia Chamot-Rooke is an Analytical Chemist by training and Senior Scientist at CNRS (DR1). She is the head of the Mass Spectrometry for Biology (MSBio) Laboratory  at the Institut Pasteur, Paris since 2012. She was previously in the Department of Chemistry at the Research Center of the Ecole Polytechnique.  At the Institut Pasteur, her lab proposes research and service in proteomics. Her research focuses on the development of innovative analytical pipelines in top-down proteomics and in structural proteomics (such as cross-linking MS), mostly for applications in the field of infectious diseases.

Julia Chamot-Rooke is a Past President of the French Society for Mass Spectrometry. She was the French representative at the International Mass Spectrometry Foundation (IMSF) between 2014 and 2017 and is, since 2017, executive board member of the IMSF as Representative of Region A (Europe/Africa). She is also a founding member and executive board member of the International Consortium for Top-Down Proteomics (CTDP). In 2019, she co-organized with the CTDP the first European Top-Down Proteomics Symposium at the Institut Pasteur, which encountered a great success.

Julia Chamot-Rooke is the partner of three major European projects (EPIC-XS,  TopSpec and ToxDetect). She is also the coordinator of several multidisciplinary projects funded by the French Research Agency (PathoTOP, T4PNanoAction) or the Fondation de la Recherche Médicale (PROTEO-SARS-CoV-2).
