About

Institut Pasteur is strengthening its research, teaching, innovation and public health missions through strategic partnerships with leading French research organizations such as CNRS, Inserm, INRAe and INRIA, as well as numerous universities in the Paris region, including Université Paris Cité, Sorbonne Université and Université Paris Saclay, the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers and École Polytechnique. The aim of these collaborations is to develop common lines of research around themes of shared interest. This network enhances Institut Pasteur’s visibility, stimulates scientific excellence and encourages the pooling of resources and expertise. In particular, it enables the creation of joint research structures and the hosting of researchers and engineers from these institutions on the Pasteur campus.

Université Paris Cité

On July 22, 2021, Institut Pasteur and Université Paris Cité signed an association agreement. This partnership enables to build a concerted and shared scientific strategy that will be based on the strengthening and co-development of the existing themes within the two establishments, both in fundamental and translational research. While both institutions share areas of excellence such as microbiology, immunology, structural biology, chemistry, there will be mutually beneficial synergies developed in the fields of developmental biology, cell biology, neurosciences, “hard” sciences, humanities and social sciences. The joint scientific strategy will be characterised by a thorough integration of basic research and clinical research, and supported notably by Université de Paris’ university hospital facilities located in the north and center of Paris (Necker, Cochin, HEGP, Saint-Louis, Lariboisière, Bichat). Finally, the association between Université de Paris and the Institut Pasteur has strong ambitions for its international outreach. With its 33 members spread over 5 continents, the Pasteur Network is an asset with high potential in this field.
