We study the role of the protein-protein interaction domains called PDZ. PDZ domains are scaffold modules regulating the cellular trafficking, the auto-association and the catalytic activity of essential cellular proteins. We have two lines of research: the rabies virus neuronal infection and the mutations in PDZ Binding Motif (PBM)-containing proteins associated to the Usher syndrome.
Signalling and Molecular interactions
Identification of cellular PDZ-containing Proteins targeted by the virus SARS-Cov-2 during infection (PPCOVi)
Thanks to their binding to PDZ domains, viral proteins play an important role in the replication and pathogenesis of SARS-CoV. Through cellular and in vitro high-throughput tests, this project aims to identify the cellular […]
Mutations in PDZ Binding Motif (PBM)-containing proteins associated to the Usher syndrome
Mutations in PDZ Binding Motif (PBM)-containing proteins are also associated to the Usher syndrome, a genetic disease resulting in both hearing loss and visual impairment. Most Usher proteins are present in auditory hair cells […]
Rabies virus neuronal infection
We have shown that proteins from Rabies virus during infection disrupts the interactions of the kinase MAST2 and phosphatase PTPN4 (PDZ domain) with their respective PDZ Binding Motif (PBM)-containing cellular ligands, the phosphatase PTEN […]
