Présentation
Our project on Corynebacterium diphtheriae and related bacterial pathogenic species aims at defining the diversity, evolution and epidemiology of the agents of diphtheria. We study clinical isolates from our culture collection of prospectively collected isolates from mainland France and overseas territories, develop international collaborations, and use genomics and phenotyping approaches to define the population dynamics of strains, of the diphtheria toxin, and of other virulence factors in humans and animals.
