Candidates need to have an excellent track record in integrated or cellular structural biology, with projects aimed at solving important biological problems by means of cryo-EM integrated in a multi-disciplinary approach. Candidates with strong expertise in image processing for Single Particle Analysis, Tomographic reconstruction and Sub-tomographic averaging are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to interact strongly with scientists both within the Department and from other Departments.
Depending on their previous experience, successful candidates will be appointed with a tenure track position to head a group of 6 (G5 track) or 8 people (G5+ track), the latter if they have a previous recognized PI experience of at least 2 years. These groups will be created for a period of 5 years and may thereafter compete for a 10-year full research group (U10).

Eligibility: G5 track junior group leaders must be less than 8 years after PhD, while G5+ track group leaders must be less than 12 years after PhD at the time of submission. For the G5 track, women are eligible up to 10 years after their PhD if they have one child and up to 12 years after their PhD if they have two or more children. For the G5+ track, women are eligible up to 14 years after their PhD if they have one child and up to 16 years after their PhD if they have two or more children. Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria could nevertheless be considered.
