Sophie Bachellier-Bassi is a research assistant at Institut Pasteur. She obtained her PhD at Institut Pasteur, working on bacterial repetitive sequences, with Prof. Maurice Hofnung and Prof. Eric Gilson. She performed her post-doctoral training at the Dundee University (UK) with Prof. David Lilley. There, she studied the regulation of transcription by supercoiling in Escherichia coli. She then went on studying the baker’s yeast condensing complex with Dr. Ulf Nehrbass at Institut Pasteur. She joined the lab of Prof. Christophe d’Enfert in 2009 to study morphogenesis regulation pathways as well as biofilm formation in the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans. Sophie Bachellier-Bassi has been “Head of practical studies” at the Institut Pasteur course “Molecular Genetics and Epigenetics” since 2010.
