I was born and bred in sunny Nice, France. I did my PhD at the Institut de Biologie Valrose, under the supervision of Dr. Stéphane Noselli. I investigated the establishement of the left-right axis in Drosophila. I then crossed the Channel to take up a post-doctoral position in Cambridge. I worked at the Gurdon Institute, in the laboratory of Prof. Andrea Brand, where I studied the nutritional regulation of neural stem cell behaviour in Drosophila. I then went back to France to start my own group in the Institut Pasteur.
