Aptamer-labeling as a strategy to determine the structure of macromolecular assemblies
A postdoc position for a talented postdoctoral researcher is available in the Structural Bioinformatics and Bioorganic Chemistry of Nucleic Acids units of the Pasteur Institute, Paris, France.
Topic. The aim of the proposed project is to develop a hybrid pipeline for the generation of protein-specific aptamer-labels to improve the localization accuracy of individual components within the cryoEM density map of macromolecular complexes.
Representative publications: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41564-018-0260-1; https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0169409X18300590
Profiles. A PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, or structural biology with experience in PCR, DNA extraction and purification, gel electrophoresis. Also sample preparation for cryoEM and HDX-MS measurements would be beneficial. The candidate should preferentially have knowledge in structural biology and EM techniques. Programming skills and familiarity with aptamers are pluses.
Conditions. The position is funded by the Inception program and the Institut Pasteur. The salary corresponds to the postdoc standard in France, including extended health coverage. The contract will be for 12 months. The position is available from January 2020, but the exact starting date is negotiable (within the first trimester of 2020).
Application: Send a single pdf document with a detailed CV, a cover letter, and the names and contacts of three references.
Materials should be emailed as a single PDF file to the principal investigators Riccardo Pellarin (riccardo.pellarin@pasteur.fr) and/or Marcel Hollenstein (marcel.hollenstein@pasteur.fr), who can be reached for informal inquiries about the project and the corresponding research units.
