I have a long-standing interest in malaria research, including understanding the malaria parasite biology and the interventions needed to control malaria disease and transmission. Malaria-causing Plasmodium parasites cycle between diverse niches in the mammalian and mosquito hosts, where they undergo multiple phenotypic transitions and massive replication. My research work encompasses the transition from the mosquito to the liver, as well as the liver- and blood-stage replication in the mammalian host.
