A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.

About

EVA-GLOBAL objective is to generate the largest accessible collection of human, animal and plant viruses in the world and move beyond the current state-of-the-art to provide an increasingly valuable resource and service to the world’s scientific community, including government health departments, higher education institutes, industry and through efficient information systems, to the general public. By structuring the community and delivering its services, EVA-GLOBAL ambition is to overcome global health challenges and to become the reference center to face potential virus outbreaks.

In order to reach this main ambitious objective, EVA-GLOBAL will have to go beyond its existing assets on the short-term by doing a leap forward led by six specific strategic axes:

– To promote innovation to develop new tools improving the quality and the diversity of distributed products

– To be present in geographical areas currently not covered by the EVAg network

– To establish a long-term sustainable organization with a legal status

– To ensure compliance with the Nagoya Protocol in its current exchange practices

– To develop a well-structured interface with the industrial sector

– To develop new opportunities for outbreak detection in the food security sector by integrating plant virus collections

EVA-GLOBAL constitutes a unique opportunity for Institut Pasteur to set up an International Biological Resource Centre focusing on virus strains in collaboration with the Institut Pasteur International Network. The aim of this centre will be to preserve collections of virus strains and the information linked to them in collaboration with the present biological resource centre

of Institut Pasteur (CRBIP). Pasteur Institutes of the International Network will progressively integrate the EVA-GLOBAL initiative, on a voluntary basis. Today the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun, Institut Pasteur of Cambodia, the Institut Pasteur of Algeria, the Institut Pasteur of Madagascar and the Institut Pasteur of Dakar have joined EVA-GLOBAL as associated partners. EVA-GLOBAL will help to make these collections available for the scientific communitee

This project is coordinated by Université d’Aix Marseille (AMU), France, Professor Jean Louis Romette.
