The Bikard lab at Institut Pasteur in Paris is seeking to hire postdoctoral researchers. We are investigating bacteria / bacteriophages interactions, and the genetic innovation that happens at this interface. This includes work on fascinating genetic systems such as CRISPR-Cas, other novel anti-phage systems, and Diversity Generating Retroelements (DGRs). The lab focuses both on fundamental aspects of these genetic systems and their applications to the development of novel tools to study and control bacteria, with a specific focus on bacteria of the microbiome.
The successful candidate will be able to define her/his own line of research within the scope of interest of the lab with the support of David and other lab members. The expected start date is in the Fall 2022 / Early 2023. Salary is commensurate with experience according to the Institut Pasteur guidelines.
Required skills:
- General microbiology and molecular biology techniques
Recommended skills:
- Genomics techniques (DNA sequencing, RNA-seq, Chip-seq etc.)
- Data analysis and statistics (R, Python)
Qualified applicants should send their CV, a statement of research interests and the contact information of two referees before June 6 to david.bikard@pasteur.fr
