Nick Owens studied Computer science at the University of York, UK, for both undergraduate and PhD in Biologically Inspired Algorithms/Machine Learning. He moved to Mike Gilchrist’s lab at the Francis Crick Institute, London, UK (formerly MRC National Institute for Medical Research) to work on gene regulation in early Xenopus development. He then moved to Pablo Navarro’s lab at Institut Pasteur. Here, he applies computational methods to understand transcription factor binding and nucleosome positioning in mouse embryonic stem cells.
