Dr Aude Nassif performed her MD, residency and chief residency in Dermatology in France, then worked on Atopic Dermatitis with Pr Hanifin in Portland, Oregon, USA. Back in Paris, she was in charge of Atopic Dermatitis and Contact Eczema patients in Tarnier-Cochin Hospital for 10 years. Next, at Pasteur Institute Medical Center, she developed an interest in Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). She has been involved in genetic studies in Hidradenitis suppurativa since 2006 and in microbiologic studies of Hidradenitis suppurativa with Dr Join-Lambert from Necker-Enfants Malades since 2007. Both of them collaboratively developed a new antibiotic strategy targeted according to microbiology of lesions allowing prolonged remission of Hidradenitis suppurativa in combination with surgery. Since 2009, they have been also collaborating successfully on the genetics of Hidradenitis suppurativa with Dr Duchatelet and Pr Hovnanian, who is also working at Necker-Enfants Malades/ Imagine and is well-known for having discovered 7 genes in skin diseases. Dr Nassif and Dr Delage are also currently collaborating with Pr Demangel in a metabolomic study in HS lesions to search for markers of HS and with Pr Di Santo in an immunologic study in HS lesions.
In the past 10 years, the team obtained 8 academic grants concerning HS (3 from SFD, 3 from FRM, 1 PHRC and 1 from Pasteur Institute).
