I am passionate about integrating bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to advance virology, focusing on virus discovery, evolution, ecology, virus-host interactions, and tools development. My research highlights include: i) Pioneering the use of deep learning for virus discovery, solving the challenge of identifying unknown viruses without relying on sequence homology; ii)Investigating the game animal virome through metatranscriptomics, discovering over 102 mammalian-associated viruses, including 21 high-risk viruses linked to human pathogenicity.
