The vast majority of the studies evaluate effects of the above-minimal inhibitory concentration (above-MIC) of antibiotics on bacteria. However, bacteria frequently encounter low concentrations of antibiotics in their environments.
Our goal is to elucidate the mechanisms involved in the response to very low concentrations of different antibiotics, how they lead to DNA damage formation and how bacteria undergo changes to adapt to such conditions.
