Présentation
The EMBO Workshop on Tuberculosis 2022, originally planned for September 2020 and postponed to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has recently received again the support from EMBO, and is now scheduled to be held from September 12-16, 2022 at the Conference Centre (CIS) of the Institut Pasteur in Paris.
The EMBO Workshop on Tuberculosis 2022 will be the 3rd congress on tuberculosis (TB) and pathogenic mycobacteria in the CIS of the Institut Pasteur in the 21st century, following the previous two very successful EMBO-sponsored congresses held in 2012 and 2016 at the same location, which included more than 500 scientists at each meeting.
Despite some major scientific advances in recent years, the global situation with TB is unfortunately still very far from being solved and TB remains a key infectious disease that globally still claims many human lives each day. Thus, the search for novel, scientifically challenging, solutions to this human tragedy is of urgent and continued interest. The objectives of this meeting are to unite a critical mass of scientists involved in research to communicate and exchange novel information on the disease and the causative agent, as well as related mycobacteria that are of medical interest.
According to the present conditions and possible restrictions, the number of participants, physically in the conference centre is foreseen to be restricted to maximal 300 people, including invited speakers and chairs. The conference organizers thus reserve the right to close inscription once the maximal number of attendees is reached. Additional possibilities to follow the meeting via videoconference will be proposed. However, the actual number of participants allowed on site might be subject of potential adjustments. In case the Covid-19 situation will allow to welcome more than 300 participants, such information will be announced on the website, closer to the date of the workshop.
For participants who had already paid the registration fee for the 2020 EMBO workshop, their registration is now automatically transferred to the workshop in September 2022. Please contact Elodie Pysson (elodie.pysson@pasteur.fr) for reimbursement, in case that this transfer is not wanted.
