A funded post-doctoral position is available to develop a research program in the context of the ERASE HIV collaboratory studying the immune mechanisms contributing to HIV remission. The successful applicants will develop their research in the “HIV Inflammation and Persistence Lab” at Institut Pasteur in Paris, under the supervision of Dr Asier Sáez-Cirión.
Dr Sáez-Cirión’s group is interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying control of HIV infection in rare individuals who are able to maintain undetectable viral loads for very long periods of time in the absence of antiretroviral treatment. The research program will be focused on the processes that lead to the development of optimal immune responses to counteract infection naturally or after early treatment initiation. Experimental approaches will cover cellular biology, immunology and virology.
Requirements
The applicant must have a PhD with research skills in the fields of immunology/immunopathology/infectious diseases, be strongly motivated by the study of virus/host interactions, be a team player and have good skills in communicating in English (oral and writing). Experience in imaging in tissues and spatial genomics/transcriptomics are important assets for this program.
Position: The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. The position is initially for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Salary is commensurate with experience according to the institutional guidelines.
