A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

Lescale C., and Deriano L., V(D)J Recombination: Orchestrating Diversity without Damage. In: Ralph A Bradshaw and Philip D Stahl (Editors-in-Chief), Encyclopedia of Cell Biology, Vol 3, Waltham, MA: Academic Press, 2016, pp. 550-566.

In this article, we first present the developmental (lymphocyte differentiation) and epigenetic (locus accessibility
and substrate selection) aspects of V(D)J recombination regulation. We  then present recent and earlier work that has shed light on the molecular mechanisms of RAG-mediated V(D)J recombination, with an emphasis on the intricate roles of the recombinase (RAG1 and RAG2), DNA damage response and DNA repair proteins. Finally, we discuss V(D)J recombination in the context of genome maintenance and malignancies of the immune system.
