Various workshops on the diagnosis of rabies are regularly organized at international level, in the form of theoretical courses and practical work sessions. These workshops are organized in close collaboration with local partners and can last from one day to 1 week.
These technical workshops can be organized alone or be integrated into broader teaching programs on the control of rabies or other zoonoses.
During these workshops, the main techniques for the diagnosis of animal and human rabies are presented and tested, such as FAT, DRIT, RIDT, and molecular biology assays. Lectures on these techniques as well as on the conditions of sample collection and transport are done, along with the basics of surveillance and control of (human and animal) rabies and the epidemiology of rabies.

– Workshop organized with the African Centers of Excellence in Neglected Tropical Diseases and Forensic Biotechnology, Zaria, Nigeria, April 1-5, 2019.
– Technical hands-on sessions in the framework of the Workshop on Surveillance and Control of Rabies organized and mainly supported by International Network Institut Pasteur, World Health Organization and World Organisation for Animal Health as well as local partners, with different sessions: Casablanca, Morocco in 2019, Amol, Iran in 2017, Yaoundé, Cameroon in 2016, Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2015, Dakar, Senegal, in December 2013
