Laura obtained a PhD by the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain), for her work on how bacterial signals regulates B cells dynamics, done under the supervision of Dr Y.R. Carrasco at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnologia (CNB)-CSIC, (Spain). After her graduation Laura joined the unit of Jost Enninga at Institut Pasteur to study the bystander activation of epithelial cells during the infection by the intracellular pathogens Shigella and Salmonella. For this project she developed a microfluidic device to analyze infections and bystander activation in combination with real time fluorescence microscopy. In 2020 she joined the Cytometry and Biomarkers UTechS (CB UTechS) lead by Milena Hasan to work on microfluidic technologies used for single cell sorting and high throughput culture of organoids. In 2023 Laura also joined the Single Cell Team at the scBiomarkers UTechS to work on Spatial transcriptomic projects.
