A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

A funded post-doctoral position is available to study the role of immunometabolism and metabolic interventions to achieve HIV remission. The successful applicants will develop their research in the “Viral Reservoirs and Immune Control Lab” headed by Asier Sáez-Cirión at Institut Pasteur in Paris.

The laboratory is interested in developing new therapeutic strategies inspired by the mechanisms associated with control of HIV infection in rare individuals who are able to maintain undetectable viral loads for very long periods of time in the absence of antiretroviral treatment. The research program will be focused on recent results from the laboratory showing that cell metabolism is a critical determinant of HIV infection on CD4+ T cells and of the efficacy of HIV-specific CD8+ T cells. The program includes the analyses of cells from metabolic interventions in preclinical models. Experimental approaches will cover cellular biology, immunology and virology.

Requirements

The applicant must have a PhD with research skills in the fields of immunology/infectious diseases, be strongly motivated by the study of virus/host interactions, be a team player and have good skills in communicating in English (oral and writing). Experience in flow cytometry is an important asset for this program.

Position: The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. The position is initially for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Salary is commensurate with experience according to Institut Pasteur guidelines.

Applications including a curriculum vitae and a cover letter detailing your skills and motivations should be sent by email to: asier.saez-cirion(at)pasteur.fr
