A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

The Microenvironment & Immunity Unit is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to study the mutual regulation of microbiota, immunity and nervous system. We are developing several lines of research to understand how the symbiotic microbiota, the immune system and the nervous system crosstalk to affect not only defense, but also physiology and metabolism. A series of cutting-edge mouse models have been developed to explore:

– How ILCs and T cells individually control the symbiotic microbiota
Eberl, Science 2015
– How microbiota controls the development and regulation of the immune system
Ohnmacht, Science 2015; Eberl, Science 2016; Al Nabhani, Immunity 2019
– How microbial components and metabolites control immunity, metabolism and cognition
Bouskra, Nature 2008; Al Nabhani, Immunity 2019
– How the enteric and central nervous systems are integrated in these mutual cross-talks
Ibiza, Nature 2016

1-2 positions are usually available every year. The postdoctoral candidates should have a strong background in cellular immunology, a passion to explore the new frontiers of immunology with microbiology, metabolism and neurosciences, and a propensity to work within a team. Please send your CV and a motivation letter to gerard.eberl@pasteur.fr. A first contact is usually established through a Skype interview, followed by an invitation to give an informal 30 minutes talk to the team at the Institut Pasteur, and half a day discussing with the members of the lab. A decision to hire is then taken after discussion with the team. Salary is established by the Institut Pasteur rules, with the exception of salaries obtained through European grants and the US Pasteur Foundation.
