A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

A post-doc position is available at Institut Pasteur, Paris, in the lab of M. Ricchetti to study the
molecular mechanisms underlying a progeroid disease, Cockayne syndrome, and their link with regular ageing. A particular attention is given to ageing-related degenerative processes using patient-derived iPSCs and cerebral organoids as a model. The investigation may include – omics analyses, the role of mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress in accelerated as well as physiological ageing. Most studies are done with patient-derived material. A novel mouse model is also used.

Our study is based on a novel and experimentally supported hypothesis linking transcriptional
changes, largely resulting from epigenomic regulation, in turn depending on the management of oxidative and nitrosative stress, as triggers of ageing-related degenerative processes. These studies have implication for therapeutic perspectives. We also aim to discover and functionally validate novel genes involved in the ageing process.

Experience in ageing-related studies is strongly recommended. The candidate should have an
experimental background in at least one of the following fields: iPSCs and cerebral organoids
cultures, cellular biology, confocal microscopy, omics analysis (DNA methylation and RNAseq),
CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
Large intellectual autonomy and experimental excellence are required.

Funds are available for one year, with possibility of prolongation.
The position is available immediately.
