A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

BioAnalyzer

Agilent • Bioanalyzer 2100

Our Bioanalyzer 2100 is dedicated to the microfluidic  electrophoresis of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA). Depositing the samples is done on specific chips depending on the type of sample. Electrophoresis is fast and provided quantitative and qualitative data.

bioanalyzer (1)

A small amount of nucleic acid (1μl, the concentration depends of the type of chip) was placed in each well in the presence of a fluorescent marker. The device measures in real time the fluorescence intensity emitted as a function of the DNA or RNA retention times within the microarray. The retention times of data and fluorescence intensity are validated against the molecular weight marker. The results are visualized as electropherograms. For RNA analysis, the software evaluates the integrity of each preparation and assigns a quality index (RNA Integrity Number) to each sample.

The main advantages of using this technology for the analysis of RNA preparations are: speed of analysis, low sample and reagent consumption, and the standardization and automation of the process.

How to have access to the Bioanalyzer?

formation-icone   Training sessions for the use of the Bioanalyzer, organized at the Transcriptome and Epigenome platform of the Biomics pole, are now replaced by a SPOC, available 24 hours a day on-line via the Pasteur Institute’s MOOC platform.

This online privatized course (SPOC) is organized in several modules, so that you become autonomous to use the Bioanalyzer.

At each step, you will be asked to answer a quiz-memory, and, at the end of the training session, you will get your certificate, allowing you to have access to the Bioanalyzer of the platform. Connect yourself !

To access to the Bioanalyzer, please come at the Veil building, 1st floor, right, room 14.01.06. Warning: Lab coats must be worn in this area.

ppms  The Bioanalyzer is freely accessible to the campus after user registration on the ppms platform and online booking for the device, for people who has  the training.

euros   The cost of an Agilent chip is currently 35 € for  11-12 samples according to the chip.
