A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

Activities

The development of effective broadly reactive vaccination and treatment strategies against emerging and re-emerging RNA viruses and in particular, against influenza viruses requires a better understanding of the complex interplay between the virus and the host immune system. The first line of defence against viral infections involve the host pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that detect specific molecular patterns exclusively found in pathogens and initiate an adequate immune response. Among them, the RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) are ubiquitously expressed RNA binding proteins that detect viral and some host RNAs in the cytosol to initiate innate antiviral responses. The development of RLR agonists or compounds targeting the RLR signalling pathway are promising therapeutic strategies, as they can modulate host cell functions early upon viral infection and eventually stop it. Our RModSignaling project aim at defining the structural and biochemical composition (primary sequence and chemical modification profiles) of RLR-specific RNA ligands for different influenza viruses.
