A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

About

Christine Clayton – Centre for Molecular Biology of Heidelberg University (ZMBH), Germany

Trypanosoma brucei has six isoforms of the cap-binding translation initiation factor eIF4E, and five eIF4Gs. I will focus on mechanisms by which the different complexes suppress or promote translation initiation. I will also discuss the links between translation initiation, the stimulatory MKT-PBP1 complex, and expression of developmentally regulated surface proteins including the variant surface glycoprotein that is responsible for antigenic variation.
