As vector biologist at the Institute Pasteur in French Guiana for about 10 years, I had been working on topics related to mosquito vectors from transmission to control and mosquito adaptation. The various projects, I had the chance to lead aimed at giving answers to local public health authorities and also improve knowledge on vectors. I always tried to develop an integrative approach from field to bench and back.
Being in the field has been a challenging experience in terms of research development, support to local authorities, student training as well as team management, logistics and legislative issues related to overseas localities. It has also allowed me to meet and work with people from diverse origins and cultures that composed French Guiana and South American countries.
Since June 2018 until 2020, I am visiting professor at the INRS-Institut Armand Frappier in the microbial ecology group to gain skills is microbiote studies in relation with mosquito adaptation and further develop collaboration on mosquito vectors of importance in Canada.
