A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

About

Inma Gonzalez studied Molecular Biology (1996-2001) at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) and obtained her PhD in Developmental Biology in 2007 under the supervision of Dr. Ana Busturia (CBM-CSIC, Madrid, Spain). She did a first postdoctoral training (2009-2013) in the laboratory of Dr. Giacomo Cavalli (Institut de Génétique Humaine, IGH-CNRS
Montpellier, France), and a second postdoctoral training (2013-2015) in the laboratory of Dr. Reini Fernández de Luco (IGH-CNRS Montpellier, France).

Since the beginning of her scientific career she has been particularly interested in epigenetic mechanisms regulating genome function. More specifically, during 10 years she focused her efforts to explore the function of Polycomb group (PcG) proteins in gene regulation. Importantly, her work did not exclusively focus on gene silencing, the canonical function of PcG proteins, but also on other aspects such as nuclear organization and the regulation of alternative splicing.

In 2015, she joined Pablo Navarro’s lab at Institut Pasteur Paris and she got immediately fascinated by the research field of mitotic bookmarking. Since 2017, she is Chargée de Recherche at the Institut Pasteur and investigates the role of mitotic bookmarking in stem and cancer cells.
