Mycoses 2015 Oct;58(S4):23-23
Outbreaks due to Mucorales have already been reported in burn units with identification of the source of the contamination in some cases. We faced an outbreak of invasive cutaneous mucormycosis in a burn unit in our hospital with five patients infected with Mucor circinelloides (polyphasic identification with sequencing of the ITS, 28S and RPB1 loci) between 2013 and 2015. In the absence of genotyping markers, whole genome sequencing was performed to study the relatedness of the isolates.
