Présentation
Our objective is to generate inner ear organoids that can recapitulate in vitro the initial steps of the cochlear epithelium formation. In particular, we aim at generating these organoids in a micro-environment that allows us to control the spatial and temporal distribution of morphogens and other diffusible biochemical factors known to be essential for the determination of the cochlear axes. To this end, the team is combining cutting edge microfluidic and biomaterial technologies with high throughput imaging and image analysis to promote and monitor cochlear differentiation from embryonic stem cells in multiple organoids. This interdisciplinary work initiated at the Hearing Institute is performed in collaboration with the Biomaterial & Microfluidic facility at the Institut Pasteur (Paris), the Institut Pasteur of Korea, and the National University of Seoul.
