Kimi did her PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India under the supervision of Dr. Manidipa Banerjee. Her thesis focused on investigating the structural dynamics of nonenveloped virus disassembly using cryo-electron microscopy and asymmetric 3D reconstruction. In 2020, she joined Prof. Winfried Weissenhorn’s group at the Institut de Biologie Structurale (IBS) Grenoble, France as a postdoctoral researcher and studied structural characterization of ESCRT-III membrane remodeling complexes using cryo-EM and helical 3D reconstruction. In August 2022, she moved to the Institut Pasteur and joined Jost Enninga’s group as a research assistant to work on advanced 3D cryo-CLEM pipeline to study host-pathogen interactions.
