A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

About

Antibiotic resistance rates are increasing worldwide, especially for Gram-negative bacteria, potentially responsible for difficult-to-treat infections and therapeutic failures. While the high prevalence of resistance in hospitals is a long-lived concern, resistance is now spreading to the community, potentially affecting millions of people. Overuse and misuse of antibiotics are thought to play an important role in the emergence of antimicrobial resistance,. Episodes of antibiotic-resistant bacteremia (presence of bacteria in the blood) are a simple and widely used marker of antimicrobial resistance.

The BactHub project aims at studying the link between exposure to antibiotics (assessed through high quality in and out-of-hospital consumption data) and the occurrence of community-onset bacteremia with resistant bacteria. BactHub is an institutional project of the French Health Data Hub, based on two chained medico-administrative databases: AP-HP Clinical Data Warehouse (EDS) and SNDS.
