Yoann Madec is a Biostatistician, he has a PhD in applied Mathematics (Paris 5 University, France) and a MSC in Public Health, specialization in biostatistics (Paris 11 university).
He joined the Emerging Diseases Epidemiology unit in 2005, where his research mainly deals with statistical analysis of cohorts of HIV-infected patients in resource-poor settings. He also collaborates with NGOs to help conduct programme evaluations.
He is involved in teaching within the Institut Pasteur. He is in charge of two courses: one dealing with “survival analysis using Stata”, and “initiation to R”. These two courses are part of the Pasteur-CNAM specialized Master in Public Health (http://school-pasteur.cnam.fr/) He also participates to the Epidemiology and Public Health summer school organised by Paris 11 university.
