A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

About

Our next Qbio lunch/minisymposium, organized by Imge Ozugergin,  will take place on Wednesday 08/10/25, Monod 7th floor (12:00 to 14:30).

This time, we’ll lure around the notion of timescale in biology trying to address which mechanisms set the various timescales in biological systems, from developmental speed, transcription dynamics, cellular events (cell division) up to macroscopic mechanical relaxation time.

We ‘ll have 4 internal short talks illustrating these notions:

Nisha Veits (Schweisguth lab) : Cellular NAD+ availability constrains developmental speed in the Drosophila eye

Imge Ozugergin (Etienne-Manneville lab) : Exploring mitosis in Glioblastoma Multiforme and its origin

Alexis Benichou (Gregor lab) : On the choreography of gene regulation

Enara Larranaga and Hiba Belkadi (Baroud lab) : Processes that dynamically regulate the recovery of spheroids after compression

This time, the talks will be followed by an open discussion where we’ll try to brainstorm on these different scales and reflect on which rate limiting steps may control them, and trying to compare these values with the one you may have observed in other cells/tissues/model system (we’ll count on your inputs and your diversity). All these will be smoothen by pizzas.
