” Importance of Culture in Human Genetic Diversity & Evolution “
Introduction
Evelyne Heyer is Professor in Genetical Anthropology, at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris where she develops researches in Human evolutionary Genetics. Her laboratory is located at the Musée de l’Homme where she was the head of the research unit UMR7206 Eco-Anthropology. Her research topics focus on Human evolutionary Genetics that she develops along three axes: tracing back population history, evaluating adaptation and natural selection, gene-culture co-evolution. She does field works in Central Africa and Central Asia and has published more than 100 papers.
On top of her research work, she is strongly involved in dissemination of knowledge: she was in charge of the renovation of the Musée de l’Homme that opened in October 2015.
