I have been a particular curiosity about how I can get more details about inside cells. For many years, I have been gathering many data about What happens inner cells when they start to secrete after inflammatory disease. Therefore, I have used the microscopy techniques to understand every movement and cellular mechanism, that allow me to get more information about the events occurring within those cells and tissue. Moreover, I started to be wondering myself about “Why not go further and explore proteins inside these cells?” For me, the human body is a machine works in tune with all the compartment, so, I need the check each of them more closely!
I have more than 12 years of experience in 3D imaging of cells and tissues through Electron Microscopy (tomography), Confocal Microscopy and Light Microscopy. My works were published on high impact scientific journals in Cellular Biology, Immunology, microbiology, and pathology. I have participated of the Cell Biology Group from Rossana’s Lab (focused on ImmunoEM) as a volunteer post-doc working on allergic, inflammatory, and infectious diseases (Dengue and H1N1) projects.
I earned knowledge about Cryo-EM and Tomography through Microscopy Center of UFMG training (Brazil). My goal is to explore cells and tissue through Advanced Microscopy Techniques, including Cryo-Electron Microscopy, to provide understanding about the organelles and proteins. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Thomas Wollert’s Lab/ Institut Pasteur working on membrane nucleation during phagophore expansion, applying both 3D imaging and cryo-microscopy techniques..
