Christelle Monville is a university professor who teaches biology at the University of Evry-Val-d’Essonne to all levels of students, from the basics of biology and physiology to more advanced neuroscience subjects. A neurobiologist by training, she did her neuroscience thesis on Huntington’s disease at the University of Créteil, with a cell therapy approach. She then spent four years as a post-doctoral fellow in Cardiff, Wales. There she joined the team of Steve Dunnett, a pioneer and great specialist in the transplantation of neurons for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. When she returned to France in 2005, it was to take the competitive examination to become a lecturer at the University of Evry. At the same time, her former thesis director, Marc Pechanski, created the I-Stem laboratory and asked her to join the adventure. Prof. Christelle Monville initially joined the team working on neuroscience and Huntington’s disease.
