A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

About

Tim Gilberger – Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine & Centre for Structural Systems Biology   Hamburg – Germany

Red blood cell invasion of the malaria parasite as the critical first step in blood stage development, remains a key target of vaccine and drug development. It relies on the coordinated interaction of hundreds of proteins mediating cell adhesion, motility and invasion. Despite the importance of this celluar process, there is only very limited data available providing structural and mechanical insights into the key protein players. This seminar will provide some novel insights into this cellular mechanism.
