A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

Host Lab

our lab (https://research.pasteur.fr/en/team/cellular-plasticity-in-age-related-pathologies/ ) explores how cellular senescence orchestrates tissue repair and regeneration. We focus on how senescent cells dynamically shape the microenvironment and how these processes can either promote regeneration or contribute to cancer, degenerative diseases, and aging.

Research Project

Our recent findings (https://doi.org/10.1101/2024.12.29.630686) reveal that senescence is important for mammary gland involution, a physiological wound healing process that is intimately linked to postpartum breast cancer (PPBC). We discovered that senescence plays a dual role: it is essential for tissue remodeling yet can be exploited by cancer. This establishes a critical link between regenerative senescence and tumor progression.

In this funded project, we aim to uncover how regenerative senescence shapes the microenvironment, particularly the immune system and ECM, to promote tissue repair, and how these processes can be exploited by the tumorigenic process.

Candidate profiles

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with:

  • A PhD (or near completion) in cancer biology, immunology, cell/molecular biology, or related fields.
  • A strong track record of research and publications.
  • Experience with in vivo models and/or immunology (highly desirable).
  • Skills in bioinformatic analysis (e.g., scRNA-seq) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, international team.
  • Proficiency in English (working language).

What We Offer

  • A research program linking senescence, tissue repair, and tumorigenesis.
  • A collaborative, international, and supportive lab culture.
  • Access to cutting-edge facilities and interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Mentorship and career development support, including networking and grant-writing opportunities.

How to Apply

Please send a single PDF including a cover letter stating the research interests and motivation, a CV, and contact information for 3 referees. Applications should be sent to: han.li@pasteur.fr.

Funding is available for multiple positions immediately but candidates will be encouraged and supported to apply for independent competitive grants.
