Présentation
A nationwide network of dedicated clinicians and microbiologists/mycologists composing the French Mycoses Study Group who diagnose and treat the patients with invasive fungal infections contribute to the surveillance programs by notifying their cases through secured websites using Voozanoo™, a web-based platform for creating surveys and information systems for public health. They also sent the corresponding isolates that we re-identify using a polyphasic approach (morphology, biochemical tests, MIC determination by EUCAST method, MALDI-TOF and nucleotide sequences).
Several surveys have been implemented allowing us to analyze the populations at risk, describe emerging pathogens, resistant isolates. Data are available through publications and the annual report of the CNRMA. Two websites are currently active and accessible only by members of the network. The first one RESOMYC corresponds to the passive surveillance system for cryptococcosis since 1985. The second one RESSIF currently involves 29 centers around metropolitan France, in the Caribbean Islands and French Guyana that notify actively all their cases of invasive fungal infections and send the corresponding isolates to the Reference Center, as well as to the active surveillance of yeasts fungemia in the Paris area (YEASTS program)
All databases have been approved by our ethical committee (Institut Pasteur Institutional Review Board 2009-34/IRB) and by the Commission pour l’Informatique et les Libertés (CNIL) and the collection of biological specimens is registered at the Ministry for Education and Research under the number DC-2008-68 collection 12.
