Présentation
Pr Christine PETIT was the coordinator of this 36 month project which included Pr E. Sylvester Vizi and Dr Tibor Zelles (partners from Institute of experimental medicine, Hungarian Academy of Science, Budapest, Hungary) as well as Dr Peter Csutora from Sanofi Research and Development, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary.
It gathered molecular and cellular biologists, neurophysiologists and neuropharmacologists from the auditory field, as well as experts in drug design and development. It aimed at:
- making significant advance in molecular physiology of the adult hair cells that will both increase our basic knowledge and open new avenues to molecular mechanisms of deafness and therapies.
- exploring pharmacological approaches of sensorineural deafness forms (inherited and noise-induced forms) based on a thorough characterisation of their underlying molecular pathophysiology.
