JOB DESCRIPTION
The Statistical Genetics unit within the department of Computational Biology at the Institut Pasteur seek a highly motivated, talented, and collaborative Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will participate in several funded projects related to the inference of genetic structure underlying common diseases in human. The position has a strong statistical and computational component with a particular emphasis on multivariate approaches and interaction effect models. Projects involve real data applications in large-scale multidimensional cohorts and are conducted in a highly collaborative setting including both international and national research groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate should have strong quantitative background with robust statistical and computational skills. He/she should be proficient with at least one programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, Python). Knowledge in biology or genetics is preferred but not required. The candidate will typically hold a Ph.D in Statistics/Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or other relevant disciplines with strong quantitative research background. Practical experience working with large scale genetic data sets, and developing statistical methods are desirable.
