A 2 year Post-doctoral position available in the Virus and Immunity Unit lead by Pr Olivier Schwartz at the Institut Pasteur.
Overview:
Our research is dedicated to the study of the mechanisms of HIV replication and interaction with the immune system. Our aim is to understand the role of cellular proteins which facilitate or on the contrary inhibit viral spread. We focus on the role of restriction factors, which are cellular proteins, often induced by type-I interferon, exerting antiviral activity. We are examining the molecular mechanisms underlying their activity, and the links that may exist between restriction and triggering of an innate or adaptive immune response. We are also studying how broadly neutralizing antibodies inhibit viral spread and kill infected cells through ADCC (antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity). In addition to HIV-1, our lab also studies other pathogenic viruses, including Chikungunya and ZIKA viruses.
The Virus and Immunity Unit is currently composed of 10 members, including 2 Staff scientists, 2 technicians, 4 post docs and 1 student.

Qualifications:
The candidate should have a strong experience in cell biology, virology or immunology. The candidate should be motivated, have excellent technical, organization and communication skills and must hold a PhD or MD degree.
