A post-doctoral position in statistical and mathematical modelling is available to work in the Epidemiology and Modelling and Antibiotic Evasion unit at Institut Pasteur / Inserm / UVSQ / Paris Saclay in Paris.
The project aims to build an analytic framework and analyze densely collected data of resistance genes, compounds concentrations and bacterial pathogens across reservoirs in Guadeloupe and assess persistence, selection and diffusion within and between reservoirs. It will combine statistical analysis, the development of a mathematical model of transmission across reservoirs and simulation studies.
The main application of the project concerns resistance in Enterobacterales. The modeling and simulation framework that will be developed in this project could be adapted to various niches and species.
The post-doctoral project is part of the ACRAS-R (AntimiCrobial Resistance trAnsmission routes in Caribbean islandS: a One Health Risk analysis) project funded by the French German call on AMR in the context of a collaboration between researchers from Université de Limoges, Intitut Pasteur de Guadeloupe, the Technische Universität Dresden and Institut Pasteur, Paris.
Recommended background: PhD in biomathematics, biostatistics, or computational biology. Required knowledge: ODE/PDE or stochastic process modeling, data analysis and/or statistical inference, programming (R, Python or C/C++). Experience appreciated: a first experience in modeling of biological phenomena and data analysis would be an asset. Desired skills: an appetite for data anlysis, life modeling and interdisciplinary collaboration is essential; rigor, adaptability, teamwork.
2-year contract, Starting date: as soon as possible
Dead line for application: the call will be open until position is filled
Salary: to be adjusted according to the candidate’s profile.
Main location: Institut Pasteur Paris.
