Présentation
Preparing for disasters requires not only the right tools, but also the right knowledge and capacity. These must reflect the real needs and contexts of responders, planners, and communities across Europe. So how do we identify which trainings are effective, and what tools are still missing? And how can co-creation help ensure that preparedness efforts are relevant, practical, and widely usable? Moreover, how can we ensure that an understanding of vulnerability is integrated into capacity building infrastructure?
In this webinar, we explore Sonar-Cities’ work on mapping existing disaster-preparedness trainings and toolkits. Through discussion focusing on how to adapt and build preparedness around specific contexts, the webinar will feed directly into the process of co-creating new toolkits, which is at the core of the Sonar Cities project. Together, we will reflect on how to understand the capacity needs that remain unmet and how collaborative approaches can strengthen the foundation of knowledge needed before a crisis hits.
