C-type lectin receptors signal through Syk and CARD9. Several major fungal pathogens activate this route in innate immune cells. Candida parapsilosis is a regular cause of candidaemia and threatens especially neonates. Nevertheless, little is known about the immunological pathways triggered by C. parapsilosis infections. We aimed to examine the role of Syk and CARD9 in experimental C. parapsilosis infections.
