Leica • EM ICE

Cryo-fixation has distinct advantages over chemical fixation. It is achieved instantly (within milliseconds) ensuring simultaneous immobilization of all macromolecules present. High Pressure Freezing Currently is the only method to vitrify thicker samples (up to 200 µm). UBI acquired recently the EM ICE High Pressure Freezing system (Leica).
