The PFBMI has a microfluidic SPR instrument (Biacore T200, Cytiva) that enables the label-free analysis of molecular interactions in real time. To that avail, one of the interaction partners is immobilized on a sensorchip, covalently or non-covalently, while the other partner is brought in contact through a microfluidic capillary device using a continuous buffer flow. This ultra-high sensitivity instrument allows to determine accurately the rates of association (kon) and dissociation (koff) between biomolecules.
