About

AMAZonian Emergence Diseases

AMAZED est un projet multidisciplinaire et multicentrique qui vise à étudier les mécanismes d’émergences de pathogènes à vecteurs sous un éclairage « One Health ». Nous profitons de la situation de la Guyane, territoire français ultra-marin tropical et haut lieu de la diversité biologique, pour y tester l’impact, sur l’émergence des arbovirus, des changements d’origine anthropique, en incluant le réchauffement climatique mais aussi l’empiètement humain dans les espaces dits naturels (forêts, savanes) par l’exploitation des ressources en bois, l’orpaillage et le développement des surfaces agricoles. D’autres sites dans les régions Caraïbes, du Pacifique Sud et de l’Europe continentale offriront, par leurs contextes différents à la fois tropicaux ou tempérés, des opportunités de tester les hypothèses de risques associés à des facteurs entomologiques ou humains. Le projet bénéficiera de protocoles et d’outils standardisés pour assurer la reproductibilité des résultats dans l’examen des différents contextes quant aux processus d’émergence d’arbovirus à partir des espaces naturels vers les espaces urbains.
